Here are some announcements in this month’s message:
I invite all parents and guardians to take advantage of our Family ASL classes that are held on campus each week. Please contact Parent Community Network Coordinator, Roz Kia at 733-4999.
Our monthly School Community Council (or SCC) meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month, from 4 pm – 5 pm in the library. This year’s committee members include Chairperson/Teacher representative: Marisa Nomi; Vice Chairperson/Parent representative: Nikki Kepo’o; Secretary/Classified Staff: Hola Lolohea; Community representative: Colin Whited; Student representative: Arwin Sacalamitao, and Administrator: Christina Juan
Parent Nikki Kepo’o has graciously offered to work with HSDB parents in fostering support. Please feel free to email her at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions, suggestions you have regarding parental support you may need.
HSDB Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on the week of April 4 – 8, 2016, with Elementary School Conferences on April 4th and 5th and Upper School Conferences on April 7th and 8th. After receiving feedback from teachers and parents, I have decided that we will go back to the original format and hold conferences in the classrooms. I highly encourage you to attend these conferences. A letter will be sent to you shortly.
I am happy to announce that HSDB will be offering after school extended learning opportunity to include study hall, team building, and dramatic arts for most of our students. We plan to begin the afterschool program in February. An informational letter to parents will be sent out shortly. . . Stay tuned
There are ASL tutorial videos provided for families to use at home on the school website. Please take some time to look through these resources to help in the communication between you and your child!
Please feel free to contact Vice Principal Julie Ledgerwood or myself at 733-4999. We are more than happy to schedule a time to meet with you if you have any questions or concerns.
